HELLO AGAIN

This is Katie, I just want to let you know I am happy, cared for, and I have great parents.
...and I am taking over this blog!
It has been about 7 years, and you guys are probably worried, or you just forgot about this blog entirely. But Katie is taking over!!

So just a quick summary of my life since Mom has stopped posting.
I started kindergarten on August 22nd, 2012. I was very happy. So were Mom and Dad. And Simon the Wondercat died.
I started 1st grade on August 21st, 2013. None of the Waldfogles liked my teacher, and I was stuck with her until 3rd grade! But we got 2 new cats, Amelia and Tinkerbell. (Kirby for short)
Dad became an alcoholic during 2nd grade. He was kept in a place with people like him. He didn't come back until that summer. But we visited him all the time.
I switched schools in 4th grade. I loved that school, and my new teachers, Mrs. Endres, (math+science) and Mrs. Witkowski (ELA+SS)
Then I switched schools again for 5th grade, and I'm halfway through the year now.
So Katie-Bobs, This family is okay. And if anyone says bad things about you, ignore them and tyr and feel good about yourself.

How Dry I am

don't necessarily want to post very much for fear of jinxing it.

But there's a piece of paper taped to the bathroom wall with a dozen smiley-face stickers on it.

just a quick note - i'll add video or audio as soon as i can.

Katie has figured out how to say her whole name - which is not a small feat, considering the tongue-twistingness of the last name.

but while i'm reporting that, i need to remember the way she says "duh-duh-yoo" when naming the letter "w" because if I don't write it down, I know I'll find myself trying to remember "what was that cute letter thing she did?"

Someone needs to feed that goat!!!

The Cincinnati Zoo does this thing called "the Festival of Lights" which involves several billion christmas lights all over the place plus some animals who can handle the cold.

We strolled all through the zoo, while Katie pointed out "red Christmas"...."purple Christmas" and "green Christmas" at each turn (she seems to think the word 'Christmas' means 'decoration'

We visited Santa's post office (where our friend Dan works) to write a letter to Santa

The attempted visit to Santa himself didn't go very well (even though Santa was played by our friend Robert) but the lights and the animals were a big hit.......Katie especially enjoyed the Nativity Scene, where she made friends with a goat.....

Buddy Walk

One of the Geese (Amy's online mommy group) has a son with Down Syndrome so we got together for an awareness-and-fund-raising walk downtown. A good time was had by all.

Another theatre adventure for Katie this summer - Mommy choreographed the production, and Daddy ended up in the cast, which meant Katie got to go to a lot of rehearsals again......

Daddy's friend Chris was often warned by his mother to be very very careful around plastic bags, for fear that he would spontaneously smother him........
